Family and Medical Leave Act

If you or a close family member suffers from a serious medical condition, you may be entitled to take up to twelve weeks of leave every twelve months (sixteen weeks in a twenty-four month period under Connecticut law).  There are very strict requirements for employers to comply with this law.  If you are denied leave, or are retaliated against for taking time off from work to care for your own or a close family member's serious medical condition, you may be entitled to reinstatement or compensation.
